This virgin mocktail (NO tequila!) boasts a burst of color and deliciousness in every sip. Garnish it with an orange slice and maraschino cherry for a beautiful classic finish.

Ingredients Needed

  • Orange juice – Preferably pulp-free for a more visually appealing drink.
  • Grenadine – A sweet red syrup that gives this drink its beautiful red hue. It is made from pomegranate juice and sugar reduced to a syrup. Grenadine is typically found in the grocery store aisle with the drink mixers.
  • Garnishes – Although garnishes are totally optional, I highly recommend an orange slice and a maraschino cherry for a beautiful presentation.

How to Make a Sunrise Mocktail

  1. Prepare your glass. Fill a highball glass with ice.
  2. Add the orange juice. Pour the orange juice over the ice, leaving room for a couple of tablespoons of grenadine.
  3. Create the sunrise gradient effect by pouring the grenadine over the orange juice.
  4. Garnish with an orange slice and maraschino cherry.

Variations

  • Adjust to taste by adding more grenadine if you prefer a sweeter drink.
  • Make it a mimosa by adding sparkling wine or sparkling water.
